I'm out of the VW world. Time to sell the OEM VW roof racks. Fits only 4-door cars. I know they fit the '03 Golf I had, I'm not sure about Jettas.

Re: seatbelt question
To get rid of the airbag light, a one- or two-ohm resistor may work. Get a low-tolerance (5%) resistor and put it on the vehicle-side of the seatbelt wiring plug(s). Using some test leads, clip it in place and see if it works. If so, solder it in place permanently.

Re: seatbelt question
Here's one thing I came across - completely wacky, but apparently it works: Dunk it in a bucket of water & dishwashing detergent for 10-15 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KA_q_AMjmQ That's from an air-cooled VW but it might still work. The guy does not mention one thing that has been ad...

Re: TDI in MT's 03 Golf
Yeah, I hope so. With all the work I've done or had done to it in the past year, I better be. Fortunately it looks like the bills are getting smaller fast.
Part of my problem is I have this thing that the car needs to be almost perfect. Not showroom, but "good enough" usually isn't for me.

Re: Mikewire's 2010 Jetta TDI DSG
51mpg on an auto? That's beyond good. All I can get on my '03 is about 38, but it's a 4-speed auto.

Yay! The car is permanently registered. One $154.25 check and no more visits to the MVD.

Eek 250$ Time to browse the FS section and see if I can find a previously owned version. http://www.myturbodiesel.com is also a good site, but doesn't have ...

Re: School me on TDI MK4 - Looking to purchase
Kevin MPG is low for that car, unless he's putting his foot into it all the time. "Normal" driving should be in the 45-55 mpg range. Has it had a "tune" done to it? Like a Malone stage 1 or 2 tune. I'm sure he'd mention it if it did, but with all the other work that's been done, ...
