Wanted: type 4 aircooled for my 72 Westy

Looking for a Motor for my 72 VW Westafilia. It is a 1700cc but any air cooled later than that will work if its a Type 4. it is different than the upright from the beatles. i think a porche, Karma Ghia, or possibly a fastack motor will work. Looking for something affordable but willing to deal, I am a Professional Mechanic and am willing to trade labor as well. Let me know if you have anything that may be of interest, thanks

awe man if only you had been on here about 5 months ago i woulda had a great doner van that had a 1700 with the weber progresive carb on it ran like a mother f*#(er. would pop wheelies but i will keep my eye open for somthing have you checked the classifieds on http://www.thesamba.com they usually have good stuff for the ol air cooleds if your not allready a member

its sitting down in wyoming in a impound yard since the guy who "bought it" well who kinda stole it. but yeah its made it down there before he got pulled over and arrested for a suspended license and the van had expired plates so yeah not sure if it is still down there but its got a nice impound fee going
