SPeaking of AEM bypasses, I heard from an AEM rep that when they came out with these, to prove that the they worked, the head of AEM put one on his NSX and then went an parked in a deep puddle, so that the filter was submerged, and revved the engine. Long story short, he drove it away, no hydrolocking!

I have never ever heard of anyone hydrolocking their car because of a CAI.
Now Jarred and I hydro locked my old 79 rabbit back in the day. Didn't have a CAI but we ran it through a rather deep puddle not realizing exactly just how deep it was(about up to the bottome of the doors).
Completely froze up. If I remember correctly we let it sit for about a half hour then push started it and she started up again!!!!
Honestly Grant, I think your worrying too much about it. I run a CAI and my inner fender well is EFFED UP!!! I have never had an issue other than having to actually clean the filter more often than usual.
Bottom line is that it shouldn't be a worry unless you actually plan on taking your car puddle hopping which I would hope your not into.....when Jarred and I did it we were in my winter beater rabbit. You'd shudder at the stories of what we had done to that poor car!
lol I kind of miss it!
