been a long time since ive posted anything here, and amazingly its not boosted yet. i started having issues with the standalone. its being super sensitive to input i value in a 1-255 adjustment i.e. if i changed the RPM fuel value from 63 to 62 to lean out the mixture, the car would lean stumble and die. so i completely ripped the electrical system out tonight, and may have found the problem. SDS controls grounds instead of switching power. i.e. the check engine light is wired to a switched power and when a problem occurs the SDS grounds the circuit puttin the light on. i found when i installed the heater box i accidentally crushed the ground (trigger) cable for the check engine light in between the mounting and the box grounding it out. so my CEL was on constantly. and therefore telling the ECU there was a problem at all times when theoretically all was fine. so in short, im completely redoing all the wiring from the fuse-box to the front of the car if that is done and the problem persists, i will have to send in the ECU for repairs. will be doing alot of things differently this time. the MAP sensor will be mounted inside the vehicle next to the ECU so no vibrations or moisture can get to it (not that that was an issue before) and the wiring will be ran through the core support instead of in between the oil pan and tranny. next time anyone sees the car the only difference will be the lack of a center console, and the addition of a custom guage bezel. stay tuned.
