Wish I had some soot....

Post by xxdolphinscryxx »

Today was one of them days when I was wishing I had not had my turbo and all the lovely parts that go with it replaced, and that my intake was still farily DIRTY.
See....there was this huge BITCH in a BMW that decided she wanted to tailgate me hardcore as I was passing a Semi at about 75 mph. The semi was just getting back into the right lane, and as soon as it cleared, she proceeded to speed up and ride my ASS. To which I slowed down to about 70 (to piss her off and let her get just a hair closer...and the speed limit is 65 in this area in IL) and I hoped and prayed that when I dropped down to 3rd that there would be a MASSIVE black dirty diesel cloud pouring from my rear to dirty up her nice white BMW.

NOTHING. Because i only have 12k on my new turbo and I've been driving properly (like it was stolen ;)

DAMN IT.

That was SO disappointing.... :crybaby:

i've always noticed it in lower (?? LOL) gears? ie 2-3 . I've read of other people talking about "sooting" people for doing stupid crap like this beeotch did to me and they dropped into lower gears to create said cloud. didn't work so well for me cuz its too clean inside atm :(

i've had my car for ummm 6 years and i obviously don't know jack about it LOL. :banghead:

Get yourself a Campbell Performance Tuning Box. I usually run mine on setting 2 of 7. If you want black smoke, switch the boost to 1, and the fuel to 7, then punch it. What's nice is you can do this on the fly. So when said BMW starts riding your butt, turn the switches, and give it to her.

Bigger injectors will do it too.

Disclaimer: I don't recommend doing this without an EGT gauge hooked up. Prolonged over-fueling can lead to high EGTs = bad for engine. Don't want to ruin your new turbo!
