Well, Im not completely sure if this answers your question or not, but what I know for fact it can read is what your ECU requests and the acutal boost it recieves, it is highly accurate and a good way to see how your car is running or how your software is performing.
Nah, I dont have a boost guage. I still have CPO, so having a boost guage might blow my cover for certain things ive done to the car.
And what you described is what im looking to do.
Oh ok, even if your still under warranty, and say something goes out, they have to prove that ur mods caused it for them not to cover it under your warranty. BTW, what mods do u have?
I'm running my VAG on an old Dell (396hz) I got for 100 bucks. streams great!!!
oh, and I also love my VAG. Over here in Spokane the dealer loves to charge 90+ to hook up and give a code using snap-on 2500's. They don't even have TDI function!!!! I charge my cust. $25, and it paid for the laptop, the software rights, and everything even a new batt... in one month.

It would be a good idea to VAG your car before you take it in for any kind of service. I had a Techtonics chip in mine, which raised the rev limiter a few hundred RPM. When I went over the stock redline, the computer logged an 'overspeed, warranty void' code, but didn't display a check engine light. I never would have known if I hadn't VAGed it, and a quick reset of the codes nuked that one from the computer's memory.
I've got two version of VAGcom to work with. Beta 0.81 and 4.09.1-S. I don't have a cable yet, I'm not sure about compatability issues with the versions. I was thinking about loading it on the laptop and trying Mike's cable at the Beartooth gtg, if he's down with that. Anybody know any more info?
