Clean 1984 Rabbit GTI for sale

Post by outwesty »

Hi, I have not been on here in some time. I moved to Bozeman last summer and went back to Michigan for school over the winter and acquired this car from a very good friend. The car is in a heated warehouse in MIchigan but I am considering flying back November first and bringing it out. I have 3 cars and I would really like to let this one go as I simply don't need it. I thought I would throw this out there to see if there is any interest out here. I know the words Michigan and car scare people but there is absolutely no rust on this car. It has never seen a winter.

Listing from thesamba:

Incredibly clean 1984 sunroof Rabbit GTI -Although not perfect This is probably one of the cleanest Mark 1 bodies left in existence. When is the last time you saw a MK1 seat that wasn't torn! I purchased this from a very good friend who owned it for 12+ years. Its very clean and is unmolested. It has front upper/ lower and rear stress bars. The suspension has been lowered and has a european manifold with techtonics downpipe and exhaust, other than that is is pretty much stock. It has 101,000 miles. The paint is in great shape. This car has been stored every winter since new and has no rust issues. I hate to see it go but I have put less than 500 miles on it in the year or so I have owned it. I am looking to get $4,000 for the car.

In the past year it has received new plugs, rotor, cap, filters, fuel pump, fuel distributor etc. New clutch was installed at 100,000 . I have a brand new set of goodyear tires that have yet to be installed. Bumpers are not in the pictures but I do have them. I believe mileage is currently 101,000.

What it needs..

headliner is sagging
baffle in fuel tank is loose causing it to hesitate when low on fuel on RH turns
small oil pan leak

looks like a beautiful example of an oem mint GTI as many examples of these dont exist, i believe you have a very reasonable asking price and should have no issue making someone a very happy camper!

if yuo want to keep it, and are able to now, you should keep it. the opportunity to get another in as good of shape is slim to none, unless you want to drop 10 stacks on one, super clean ones are going for that anymore!
