Guys/Gals: Read this article and someone please tell me they have an older rabbit somewhere?

77' isnt that old. there is an article on the tex some were about the very first golf. had a sliding door like a minivan. ill see if i cant turn in up.

besides that I personally know of a few 75' rabbits. one even has a build date of 12/74. but they have huge holes in the floors.

(again this is Kevin, yea i know im lazy)

It has to be diesel to qualify - you know of older diesel rabbits? If so I will buy it/them. Floor pans are easy to weld in...I just need a welder.

'77 was the first year for diesel Rabbits.


Check out swallowtail.org for pics/info on the early Rabbits and prototypes.

I bought a early '78 diesel 2 door from the owner of that site. Unbelieveable clean car. CA blue plate 2 owner car, L model with deluxe interior and sunroof. Drove it home to Whitefish from San Francisco. 55 mph and 50 mpg. :nod:

Sold it to Averagedude who painted it and subsequently had a PVW feature. Kind of regret that one....

Any idea which issue? I would like to see that (again), and I have them all.
