2017 Jetta GLI - New Texas Daily

Hey all, just picked up a new daily driver for my work commute! 2017 GLI with about 20K miles. Previously was the managers car, so it was taken care of and was really clean. Here's a few pictures:









First mod was to pull each wheel and give it some cleanup to remove the little bit of harshness in the ride. Found some old wheel weight residue that needed removed and that solved the problem. After each wheel was clean I used a product from Chemical Guys to wax and seal up the paint.

First real mods were to activate "instrument celebration" (needle sweep) and remote activated window roll up/down. Just the typical mods on a new vehicle

Looking forward to doing more with it, maybe a tune and CTS intake?

Dang Mike, sweet new ride! So is this wheel proctor like a wax? Seems kind of thick and florescent green.. do you notice any of that color?

Thanks! It’s just like wax for paint, but it’s a little heavier and formulated for wheels, specifically reducing brake dust buildup. It’s goes on kind of green but once it dries and is buffed clean there’s no residue at all. Smells like cucumbers lol.

Nice! Yeah it's similar in color, yours probably was Candy White, like my MK4 2000 2.0L was. This new MK6 color is a White Silver Metallic - it looks white, but is a silver base, so it looks silver at some points of the day, mainly at dawn and dusk. VW has been getting tricky.

I also did some quick VCDS mods - enabled "indicator celebration" (needle sweep) and enabled comfort remote activated window roll up/down. First tutorial video about the needle sweep is up...the next one is coming about the window feature, plus a few more I have been working on.

I'm not that good at it, so be patient. And yes, it's quite clear I need a gimbal for my GP
