Mk1 power steering?
ANyone know if the late carbiolets came with power steering?I am looking to put power steering the GTI if I can (blasphemy, I know!!) and i was thinking that the later cabbies might have p/s that I couls swap in. It is kinda going to be a winter project for me, I think. Gotta have something to do to keep my busy./....

Would this be going in your autocross car?
Have you ever autocrossed an early H2O VW with power steering and wider than stock tires?
My '88 GTI had PS, and it was horrible for autocross. After the 1st turn every time I moved the wheel I was moving the steering wheel faster than the PS could move the rack, it was tremendously annoying. The R does it too, sometimes.
