Certain times of the year it is closed due to snowpack or avalanche danger but other than that it's open every summer. It's one of the main attractions. In fact I believe this is it's 75th anniversary! :thumbsup:

I agree we should cruise GNP later in the year. Maybe mid to late August?

As for YNP next year maybe the second weekend in June will work for everyone!

As for me I would try and make it to both.

Yeah, it is almost July, and they are still having avalanches on going to the sun road. They guy that usually clears it out also said that he had cheated death enough this year and won't do it anymore, and they had to get another guy to do it. If you have even driven the road, you know this guy is smart.

OK I'm agreeing on June 14th. I don't know what is going on in the Eisen household or where we'll be for that matter, but I'm scheduling it right now to be in Bozeman on the weekend of June 14th.
