Is there any way to test this? I guess it just seems odd it would only do 10 lbs of boost in first and second...

I would have no idea how to "test" how much boost the car should be making. The way that is works is the Revo software "requests" a certain amount of boost from the car, and then the car will provide whatever level of boost it thinks it should put out, be it what the software requested or not. All of the original overboost protection and parameters are still installed in the car. If the car thinks that it cannot produce or use 20 psi in first gear, it will not produce it. Trust me, you don't want 20 psi in first gear anyway.

I could certainly see first - Is there anyway to have it made in second?
Can we change this value?

Unfourtunately that is something that I can't change. The car is going to decide what boost levels it should be running, no matter what the revo software asks for. That is a built in safety feature that keeps your motor from exploding. The revo software simply requests a certain boost level, then the car is going to check a bunch of parameters regarding boost (rpm, speed, existing boost, N75 values, etc) and then is going to decide wether or not to produce the boost that the software is asking for. The software is a non-changing program, the car is goin going to ultimately decide what it should do.

Grant - I think Aeron's probably right about the tune, you don't want to be pumping 20psi through the system on every gear, on every pull. Correct me if I am wrong, but your engine is full stock except for an ECU flash, so if you want 20 psi through all gear ranges you'll need to other things like a boost controller, tweak your N75, exhaust, intake etc. - the downside is that you lose reliability. I'm trying to be on your side bro, but I think your expectations may be a little high for what you are currently running. I mean, how many stg1 owners are peaking and holding 20psi consistently in all gear ranges? And do they have data (dyno or logs) to back that up?
If, before you got the car flashed Aeron had said "Dude you will hold 20 psi in every gear!" I would say you have ground to object, but the results of a stage 1 flash is added HP and TQ, both of which you have gained for sure, so enjoy stage 1 and plan for the next step. You are on the first baby step of tuning your car, and I think you may have set your expectations a little high.
Don't hate me bro, but I'm trying to get you to see things from another perspective. And right now, my laptop HDD is dead, so you can't borrow my Vag-Com to do boost logs, sorry. You can when it is up.

I am not trying to fight anyone!! I am confused - because I figured that during second gear, you would want your car to boost as much as it does through 3rd and 4th.
Is it normal for the software to behave as such??
I certainly understand that this is the first step as far as modifying my car. I am just trying to get the most out of my purchase =)
I don't think anything bad about revo, aeron, though i hate you mike, you should know that =)
What i am getting from you Aeron is : while it might be beneficial (as far as speed goes) to have 20 lbs of boost in second gear - for some reason that is not software specific my car does not want to produce that. Also - I am coming up with the idea that my boost levels are what is expected from a Revo Tune and were I to want to increase that, I should look into other mods and then go stage 2?
It seems as this
1st gear is spike at 14 pounds hold at 10 lbs of boost
2nd gear is spike at 16 hold at 10
3rd gear fourth gear fifth is spike at 20, hold at 20
Thats why I was looking into it so much - I would assume my car would be extremely faster throughout second and i originally was thinking first, but the wheel spin would be annoying. If it were to be pushing twenty.
I will restate this - I don't mean to come off as an ass - I am not hitting down on anything, anyone - ask anyone - or come for a ride, ill show you how awesome the chip is =)
its a SIGNIFICANT increase - I am just trying to make sure everything is working properly and I am getting the most of my hard earned 500 dolla =)
If there was a way - I would love to increase the second gears boost levels as far as the chip - If the engine is telling the software that it cant and wont produce those kinds of boost levels then thats fine, but if its a setting i can change, i would love to have it be hitting 20 lbs - because this is my daily, i wanted to increase the speed without killing it right away =) I realize that it will die faster than had i not done the chip - but hey, speed is necessary.
So - recap - i don't hate mike - I love looking from other points of view - i dont know how i came off at first, but im not trying to start any problems - i am just curious - just like asking you how i can increase the performance of my turbo =)
One thing i would like to ask you about Aeron - Is there anyway that you have the capability to tune this revo chip to my car specifically - rather than doing just the general REVO software attributes, maybe increase timing or whatever might make the chip a little more personal as to what my car needs?

You might get a better answer on the vortex really.

Seconded
Grant, I sent an email to my Revo rep describing the situation, I will let you know what I hear back, but I am pretty sure it is just going to be everything we have talked about. I do not have the ability to tune for each car specifically, I have three parameters that are adjstable on the 1.8T. Any more than that and you run the risk of some installer thinking he is better than he really is and blowing up engines. I think when you get up to stg3 you start getting into custom maps and so on......
