So - I never came back and explained what this problem was . I have since fixed it =)
The turbo was gone. the seal had blown and it was moving back and forth roughly 2 mm each direction for a mobile movement equivalent to 4mm.
After i replaced the turbo - everything was honky dory =)
oh btw - K04 is amazing!
