Rennwagen1 wrote:Wait a tic!! If that thing was made in Germany, why is "westfalia" written in english?!
after i got it and checked the massive bag of receipts in the glove box, the documentation proves that it was in fact delivered to the cali tourists in Paris France. but since they were "tourists" the wouldn't let the bring a German one back to the states, so yes it turns out to be a regular cail westy.. but at least it kinda has cool history.

Are those Weber IDF's? If so those carbs are pretty shitty, have one on the sand rail, 44mm.

Anti-Weber? I have had nothing but success with Weber carbs. A good resource is or at least used to be top end performance. I got a rebuild kit and performance jets from them a couple years ago. Everything worked great :)

I hear there are very sensitive to fuel pressure, alot guys use adjustable FPRs.

Sorry to hear you are anti-weber IDF i have never used them before but i am sure i will get them running top notch..

I had a corrado and it sucked so ALL of them must suck too. Right?

Corrados do suck.

It has an adjustable FPR on it, but still has a decent flat spot, and will bog on tight left hand turns. If you get them running well, let me know what you did. The first one was sent back because the casting was defective, and this one has been jetted, and adjusted, still cant seem to get it perfect. Works great at wide open throttle though.

3.5-4 psi? that what i hear they like..

Got the other motor pulled last sat and it went pretty dang smooth, minus the hot weather and sunburns

Sunday I got all the exhaust taken apart, and started to media blast all the bits. As its turns out i will need to do a little straightening on one of the exchangers, never saw the damage until too late..

Now i gotta start think about building/buying something like this http://www.tangerineracing.com/Type4ExhaustHeaders.htm
