BMP would be nice! i would use high temp as like a primer then try that.

I'm not sure if you got around to doing this dark, and I know this is an old post... but honestly they have high temp paints that are well up to 400 degrees, just do a semi gloss color. Probably a 2 gloss (1-3 scale) and then clear coat it with a high temp clear coat, and it will gloss it over real niceeee.
If possible though, i'd have someone spray it for you, unless you already have a HVLP gun, or another gun of some sort.

Had bbq paint on my 12v turbo for 7yrs now. Looks about the same as the first week...

It's funny how BBQ paint probably gets used for more things other than actually refinishing BBQs lol

i would consider powerdercoat too, should stay nice and shiny! but still might be a tad warm for it.
