It's $600+ for a good rebuild.

Why would you put an older motor in a newer car? I don't even think that is street or emissions legal.

Do a 16V conversion then SC it. Would you get class credit? :)

16V wouldnt feel any different, except maybe worse, sure power is more, "when new" but the rod ratio on ABA makes the ABA a better choice, esp for a semi heavy mk3, a valver would feel slower out the box till 3500-4000 where the torque comes back. the ABA is your best bet, easy to mod, reliable as **** very upgradeable.

BBM makes the 16v conversion kit, so may as well make it a BBM machine!

94 is the good motor too! You have oil squirters and forged internals. They took that away with the OBD2 motors.

Sweet, thanks for all the info guys. I've already thought about putting the 16v head on, or even a 1.8 JH but i think i'll stick with the 2.0 head port/ polish with a custom aluminum short runner intake, TT Cam, the stainless Borla exhaust, chip, and some stickers! haha just messin'. What do you guys think about that for an upgrade? Any opinions or ideas welcome on this.. And yes! i will get live hours to pull the head, port/ polish, and do the cam and chip but i can't do the exhaust in class cause Wyotech is nazi against exhaust and loud sound systems..
