yeah im just going to try and get some fast launches. nothing violent cause the stock trans is only rated for like 100hp and ill have over double that haha. i also decided to just get a new turbo so i just ordered a t3 t04e turbo so that should simplify assembly since i wont have to deal with wacky6 dodge stuff haha.

what will you run for ignition? doing a draw through turbo setup? i love the look of a turbo hangin off the back of a little ole beetle suckin through a 4 bbl :) suprise!~ unless that firebird can loose a thousand pounds and gain a couple hundred hp, youll def send him back to the winter drawing board again this year! :) how is the setup up there in helena? i might have to run the rabbit but i wouldnt want to if its a pretty crappy surface, i would def, break an axle.

Saw a few turbo beetles in phoenix over the years. Some converted to megasquirt full efi with the water temp sensor tapped into the oil jacket. Easy to mount trigger wheel etc... greatly improves tune and provides option for traction control, water meth control, antilag, boost control, two step etc... cheap too.

ill be running draw through with a holley 500 with what they call a boosted power valve so it knows when its on boost. i guess it makes it super drive able. as fr ignition ill be running a cb performance billet distributor (im able to lock it out) with 40, volt coil. its basically an msd dist. i just wont be running a box. im trying to d0 this cheap but still use quality parts that will perform, so im not reallt looking at the efi or anything like that. i want it to look slightly vintage to to match the look of the car. i could get a trigger wheel but if i keep the distributor drive gears in good shape i wnt have to worry about timing flutter to much. my buddy talked to the guy who owns lowbugget a vw turbo specialist and he said with about 8:1 static compression and leaving th line at about 3000 or 3500 i shouldnt have to worry about to much lag since ill have quite a bit of raw motor to get me ut of the hole. the track setup is ok. not the best lol. the first year they had it there was nooooooo traction but this last year they put down some traction compound which helped a lot but the high hp rigs were still spinning. im not to sure how much hp that fire bird will be running. even if hes running 400 hp i think ill still have the edge c ause ill have nearly 300 and my car weighs like a thoousand pounds less haha. i dont think hes done as much weight savings as i have. i even put lexan windows in the og seals to fool people into thinking im running glass. and the whole interior is gutted and im only carying 1.5 gallons of fuel. id like to get an aluminum beam for the front to. that should save around 30 lbs.

yeah, those blower carbs are the business, the way to go for sure, and should return decent economy too, granted thats not the goal. if they have some traction compound that sounds pretty decent, i will at least come watch and probably run too!

yeah i think draw through is deff the way to go. economy isnt priority haha. its a fun place to race but it gets hotter than shit and it averages about 3 runs each car in the day they have it. but im gunna try and make it to lewistown for the 1/4 and malta for the 1/8th. you should deff come to helena so we can show people what german engineering is all about haha
