GGaaahhhh!! So evil, but so awesome. Hint duly noted.MT-Getto wrote:[hint] Chipped / Cammed 16V 2.0 and Trans with entire fuel system are up for grabs from my GLI once I begin my build [/hint]
And this is why I love this site.MT-Getto wrote:They did make an 8v GTI, but they were basically just a dressed up golf. They had the GTI body side skirts, bumpers, and interior. But the motor, brakes (drum rear) and suspension were basically just a golf.
I am pretty sure, but not 100%, that the early 8v GTi's ('85 & '86, maybe '87) did have disks all around, and the 8v engine was a little more potent (CIS FI) than the standard Golf/Jetta engine. But, like MT-Getto says, the big bumper 8v GTi's are really just "GTi look".MT-Getto wrote:They did make an 8v GTI, but they were basically just a dressed up golf. Personally, if are looking for the GTi experience, you can't go wrong with any of the 16v Mk2 GTi's.
