No access to a vagcom, nor do I have the $$ for one right now. I seem to be the only person with a dub for miles as well.

Right now I'm living out in Powers Lake, North Dakota. I should make it back to Missoula mid-June but unfortunately I probably won't get to bring back the GTI if it stays this way.
I suppose my next step should be a pressure test.

OK well, I decided I would run a test on my N75. I took off the top hose and ran her down the block. It did boost to where it is supposed to(20psi) but I went from 2nd gear at 5psi and ran it up from a low rpm about to 2500 when it hit about 15psi I lost the throttle, not entirely but it was very poor and it threw "EPC" on the dash BUT it started to idle correctly when I came to a stop. So I turned the car off then back on and it was back to the same old crap.
What does that mean??!?

I'm going to take off the TB and clean it today to see if that makes any difference.

I would look around the engineering bay for any broken check valves or any hoses disconnected. You are almost describing a big vac leak, and possibly a broken suction jet pump, which is very common on the 1.8T. I don't have a picture of it on the transverse motor but it should be near your brake booster and vac res. On the top of the motor on the intake side.
It usually splits in half and can be super glued back together as a temporary fix.

I would say good luck and hope you find out what the issue is. Buy if ran good before the tune then horrible after the tune. Well there would be your issue. I would think.

MikeWire, as usual your intelligence surpasses mine...

AHH!
Take your car from woosh to push.
Yasha, I totally agreed until I found that hose. Now I just feel like a huge A hole.
