Changing the valve cover gasket out today I have a brilliant idea to paint the valve cover red metallic to match the interior. Spray it and it dries pink, just what I need is a tuna basket with a pink valve cover. So I stripped it again and painted it flat black lesson learned.

So I was bolting up the valve cover and noticed this tangling. Controls the fan previous owner couldn't get fan to run (probably the culprit) where does this bolt up to? Onto the valve cover?

EDIT:
This is the after-run coolant fan switch and it mounts between cylinder 2 and 3 on the backside of the valve cover. I tested mine according to Bentley and have to order a new one online, this would cause the radiator fan not to run or run constantly when the ignition is on like the previous owner explained.

Don't they typically go in the radiator?

90 and up Cabbys (at least) have this after run switch which turns the fan on if the engine is hot and off. The other fan switch (two or three terminal) is on the radiator itself like a usual vehicle. You touch the wire terminal end onto a grounding piece (valve cover etc) and the fan turns on.
