I'd swap out the pertronix and go back to points and condenser. Or swap in a spare dizzy if you have one extra. Sounds good ignition related for sure.

Just did a compression test, 160-165psi all around on a cold engine.

You really think so? It sounds like it's only misfiring at idle, where there's no advance... odd. I wish I had another dizzy to try.

Hows the charging system? Battery have 12+ volts? Did the key get left on over the winter?

Charging system is good, battery is a "bad core return" from work which was actually in perfect condition and only a year old so I snagged that for it.
This is seriously driving me insane. Something so simple is being so complex. Lol
I can only think it's the carb, but on the other hand it should cause both cylinders on one side to misfire, and not just one on each side.

Wait, so have you verified no spark on 1 and 3? Before moving to fuel I would check the ignition first. It should be 100%.
I mentioned leaving the key on as a possibility because the Pertronix can burn out if left on for an amount of time. Just a possibly to rule out.

No, they have perfect spark all around. Sorry for the confusion. Just odd because I have spark, fuel, and correct timing and compression. No clue why the two flywheel side cylinders stay dead.
I just grabbed some B5ES plugs to replace the B6ES ones that I've been running. Maybe a hotter plug will help them at idle.

I hate to ask, but is there any chance you have plug wires crossed?

hehe nope. Fair question though, because i thought that too, then i swapped them and got a "banging" show.
