As far as the Top Gear project, here's the most comprehensive write up I've been able to find on it (warning: requires lots of reading!):

If you jump to Part 6 - that's where they do all of the performance upgrades.
And here is the best source I've found for their videos:

I'm still heavily in the research stage as far as my project goes. My biggest goal is going to get the '03 ALH engine out of my totaled Jetta and get it in the rabbit. Once it's in, and running, then I'll start working on performance upgrades. As it stands right now, I have an EGR delete and a Tuning box hooked up to the motor.
At the wheel Dyno numbers for the Jetta (SAE corrected) = 118 HP & 213 ft-lbs of torque

EGR delete should help alot! also, if you plan to use the gearing from the jetta, i.e. going with hydraulic clutch (recommended for sure) let me know, or come see me at the shop and i can show you how to make motor mounts really easy, and one way to mount the hydro clutch master. looks like they used the 020 for ease im guessing, but 200+ lb feet of torque will not be kind to the gears/axles esp if you use a 90mm flange diesel rabbit trans, i took out 4 axles (new) in 1000 miles with 4-5 PSI on my rabbit and i estimated it at less than 200 WHP at the time. plus the 02A feels so much better!
