I'll take a 1400XPL since I really don't need security, but want remote and keyless entry. It's the LX trim package if that makes a difference.
I should be able to give you a call here in a half hour or so.

I guess I won't get one if I can't put it into a manual. Is there one that works for a manual?

Thanks Mike! First one sold! It have it boxed and labeled and ready to be dropped off at the post office. U should have it tomorrow or thursday at the house. Thanks again!
BM, technically you can install it in a 5 spd, but I wouldn't recommend it, both vehicles that I know of that have them have both been started into buildings. All it takes is one time, and then you have a $1000 body shop bill. Trust me, I know.

Thanks Aeron, got your package and installed it. I needed a relay and some connectors, so I got those from a local shop where I think the guys are pretty cool.
Anyway the keyless entry works great! But, I am having trouble with the remote start not working. and I have triple checked my wiring and connections as well as going over the wiring list about a dozen times. I also have the PATS interface wired in and it seems to work fine, although I won't really know until the remote start works. I think it may have something to do with the neutral safety, so I wired in the toggle switch, but that did nothing. So I am missing the boat here - any suggestions?
One thing to note is that the Direct Wire wiring list says there is a black wire in the ignition harness, and I don't have a black wire. I also have a Yellow wire in my ignition harness not listed on the diagrams. I don't think that has much to do with the problem, but it may be a discrepancy in the vehicle wiring list Direct Wire provides.

You want to just connect the neutral safety wire to ground. I believe it is the small black/white trace. connect it to ground where you grounded the main black ground wire. When you say the remote start doesn't work, what does it do? does it respond at all, and not crank? Acutually this would be better on the phone. Call me this weekend when you have some time and can get under the dash and we will trouble shoot it together.

Ok I'll connect the NS wire to ground and see what happens, and if it's nothing then I will give you a call this weekend - what time would be good for you? I know it's something simple, but by nothing I mean I hear no relays, no starter nothing, like I never hit the button. In fact I reprogrammed the remote start button on the transmitter because I though may be it wasn't set up from DEI to work out of the box.
I may not even be hitting the button in the right way or something...it says twice in 3 seconds, but

The remotes are programmed out of the box, but since you already did it, no big deal. It sound like your hood pin may not be getting pushed all the way down (you DID install the hood pin, didn't you?) Pop the hood, unplug the wire from the pinswitch and try again. If the hopod pin wire is grounded the system will act completely dead(on the remote start side)
Also, I can't remember, did you tach learn the system? It might not start if you have not. With you tach wire connected to the tach output, start the car, and within a couple seconds push and hold hte little black valet switch in and the LED should come on solid. If it doesn't, you have a tach reading problem, check you wiring and connections, and try again. I have had some vehicles that would not tach learn, but they are most dodge diesels, I can't remember any problems with fords.
Call me whenever you are ready. I should be at the shop all weekend working on Poorhouse's rabbit. Call me on my cell, I don't answer the shop phone on weekends.

I did wire in the hood pin (grey wire), and tapped it into the purple/orange at the FEM like it says in the wiring diagram, I bolted it in a spot under the hood where the hood will close on it and push it all the way down.
I just went and tried the tach learn and the LED does light up solid until I let it up, then the lights flash once. Seems to be OK, but the remote start still no worky.
The NS switch I wired to the ground where the other grounds are hooked in to.
