I think we should all agree to bring certain things ahead of time. And do a check list the night before we leave. As for the steering rack I'll also bring spare steering rack straps haha.kompressorgolf wrote: for MK1 owners add...
spare motor for exchange at roadside rest stops
ok for real
oil
extra coolant t
throttle cable
clutch cable

water
switch to rig up for fan
zip ties
you never know lots can go wrong on A1's
Yes, there is a place to to pull over on the edge of the road to wait for people to come through. But it could only handle maybe ten cars max.kompressorgolf wrote: in addition to spences post is there a place to pullover to wait for others to come through the gate, maybe apoint squad leaders and take groups of 5-10 depending on the turnout. then meet up at the first stop to continue on together?
I've thought about walkie-talkies this entire time and it's the best way to communicate considering that there is NO reception in the park. Front and rear cars should have CB's though. Wade, think we could rent two CB's for a weekend?Roadhog wrote: We should ALL try to get walkie talkies. Then we know if anyone has to take a piss at the next stop or what not.
There are numerous pullouts along the way so its hard to label what ones to stop at.
Of course you're welcome Tong! Haha.skaterazn wrote:YEAHH!!! I'm excited. it'll be a nice break from working 75 hour weeks. I'm bringing a mustang with VW emblems and Audi rings. Does that count as Euro?
I agree, agree, agree.MikeWire wrote: I think most the detail will need to be done on the 19th of April when we do the test run. Plus we can only plan certain mass stops, but I guarantee that I (and others) will stop more often to take some pictures etc. I like your stop area ideas because it would plan for like a "layover" time of 15-30(?) minutes per stop for breaks or for others to play catchup with the group. Keep in mind of the unpredictable stops and starts of the other vehicles, animals, RV's and tour buses on the route as well. We don't know how crowded each area is going to be, but we plan on getting a pretty good idea of the general size of each stop to see if can accommodate an entire group or not. There's just a lot of logistical things that need to be considered and I like that you thought of that - are you going to make it to the mock drive?
im gonna hold you to those vw and audi emblems then you get an A+ for effort!skaterazn wrote:YEAHH!!! I'm excited. it'll be a nice break from working 75 hour weeks. I'm bringing a mustang with VW emblems and Audi rings. Does that count as Euro?
