Problem of the week: A bird came out of the ditch and took out my passenger head light. I have not had a week of problem free driving since I bought this car. It is cursed. I doubt it will make it through the rest of the year at this rate.

Is it worth selling it, or trading it in on something else rather than putting more money into this thing? It's possible there is light at the end of this tunnel, but I'd be thinking about cutting bait at this point.

Drove passat to Kansas for Thanksgiving. Fresh set of tires, replaced the head light with a used one(the adjusters broke right away, so i pumped in screws from every direction to support the internals). Had two new issues arise. It had a little trouble starting one time. Cranked, and didn't start the first time, second time cranking it started but ran like shit for a few seconds and has been idling rough since. Second issue, when the turn signal shuts off the the relay/hazard switch continues to click randomly for a random amount of time.

Hazard/flasher switch recall right? Should be able to get a free/cheap one from the dealership.

If that doesn't fix it, then maybe check out the turn bulbs, including the side repeaters, and swap them out with all new ones. Although my Jetta didn't have the flasher issue, it did funny things if all the bulbs weren't the same type.

Rough idle, sounds like a vac leak. Damn these 1.8's :banghead:
