Yup. I finally got to the point that I don't even remove them anymore, I just pop out the rub strip and mask off the bumper ends and throw some cardboard between the bumper and car and go to town with the Krylon!!ValveFloat wrote:Rennwagen1 wrote:...Re-painted the bumpers...That's funny, that was a yearly thing for my Rabbit when I had it.
Put some heat to it.. And use a big hammer.MikeWire wrote:Over the weekend I finished pulling the tranny and installed the new clutch and flywheel, then put it back together. I also pulled the control arms and I'll probably take them to a machine shop to get the bushings popped out and the new ones pressed in.
Now, the ball joints...anyone have a trick for getting them out? They aren't budging even with a tie rod tool. Soaking in tri flow lube to help loosen them up right now - any tips?

Werd - thanks Spence I let them soak in tri flow and then torched them and I was able to drop them out. Control arms with R32 bushings, new ball joints, and a new carbon cabin filter go in tonight! If I have enough time I will flush the brake lines and clutch with super blue DOT4 and try out the new stage 1 clutch.Roadhog wrote:Put some heat to it..
