For 3k+ I could get bigger turbos for an V6 that is friendly with them.

dont let the sheep scare you trev! remember my jetta has an NA motor in it... runnin 10psi...
just make sure you have your fuel system more then up to par for boost.. the rest is easy

Not for very long....isn't he currently experienceing tranny issues? I tend to group that together as included in the hole engine package.

I consider the transmission separate from the engine. If your engine blows, you don't replace your transmission too.

The VRT's on average seem to be pretty damn reliable. i.e. the C2 chipped stuff. if your worried about trannys, then 02M is by far the best option, nothing lasts forever.
