MT-Getto wrote:And yeah J, damn that 20th.......... that car set the bar pretty high. Not sure what the HP was on the 16v. Should have been right around 175 or maybe a little higher with the catback, cams and chip?

I'm still a long way from being finished with this build. Once I have everything mechanical and electrical sorted, I can worry about getting it dialed in and tuned.
Yeah the ole 20th started with 30 more hp's at the crank and had about $3k worth of bolt-ons. I wish I had done a dyno on it. :(

Definitely the biggest performance difference I noticed was the 3" GHL/Milltek turbo back. That made it a whole different animal, at least based on my seat of the pants dyno. There was a huge difference between the profile of the stock TIP and the Samco unit I had.

It will definitely get there man, like you said once you have it electrically and mechanically sorted it is all down hill from there! The good news is that you are on the downside of parts pricing at this point. Everything I got in 2003 was pretty new to the market and if I hadn't worked that deal with Morgan I never would have been able to afford any of it! lol.

Got my tach working with the aide of the MSD 8920. Coilpack cars have a 12+ square wave from the ECU as a tach signal. If you want to use a "-"Coil driven tach you gotta get an adapter. The car falls flat on its face at 3500 rpm. Boost guage will be here this week so I can see what that is doing.

Sorry Jurgen but I did this and I like it. I have always hated the headunit glaring at me from the top of the dash.

Whoa nice man! I didn't know you had a stereo in there!

The turbo should really start kicking in around 3,200 iirc. Not giving you much if it is falling off at 3500. :(

I'm beginning to wonder if this car is getting used to its new configuration. Did some data logging with a co-pilot on the Vag-Com and it seems to be running pretty well. I still think my cat restriction is a problem, but I'll deal with that soon. Turbo spools quickly spiking to 17 or 18 and holds 15psi. Fun to drive but I can tell theres more oomph in her.

42draft makes a nice gauge panel. These are the Cockpit series gauges.
