Ridiculous.

For 6k you can buy new car. I am curious about the subframe issue, but no way are gravel roads to blame.

I have a 4 spoke wheel and bag sitting in my garage if you are interested.

I'm positive the insurance company will require at least one more estimate. But, I am gonna throw this out there... It is a girl driving. The same girl that can't stop pulling over parking curbs and pulling her bumper off. The same girl that when she pulls up along the curb, she knows she's there when she scrapes it. I love my sister, but she is not exactly "car savvy." Also the gravel road in question is Terrible. I was out there this weekend and from where she lives, in either direction, is at least 10 miles to pavement. That road really is bad.

Even if the dirt road is bad I still can't see that causing the airbag deployment.
Now driving over parking curbs on the other hand.........

You just described 90% of the drivers on the road. Trust me, we are the 10% here. They build cars for the 90% not the 10% which is why we do things like intakes, exhausts, LOWERING SPRINGS(gasp), stereos, lighting, I could go on here......

I realise that you drive a Subi, and as such you have no experience with VW/Audi dealers. We dubbers learn early on to FIGHT THE DEALER. You may have to talk to everyone in the service dept, or contact VWoA directly, and it will take some work, but sombody will get something done eventually.....

The dealer is being rediculous. As is the insurance company.

Hey thanks guys! I just heard from her and the insurance company is totalling the car out and giving her a lil over 5k for the car. This is ok for us because she owed over 7 on it and has GAP insurance on the loan thank God. Pretty much getting out of a shit storm smelling like a rose... minus a car. She is looking around now for another car and isn't sure what she is going to get, but hopefully we get her something soon since they are picking up the car today and she is in the middle of fucking nowhere.
