Drove the project home today and got the EA>EJ adapter yesterday. I bet the trail of smoke is still lingering :) My buddy following me pulled the pin on his fire extinguisher in preparation.

Clutch and adapter installed. I am going to try to drop her in tomorrow morning or if I'm feelin' frisky I will start tonight.

I tried to get the motor bolted to the tranny for 2 hours before going to bed last night! The first thing I did when I woke up was go out to the garage and put the clutch alignment tool into the old clutch disk. The old one uses a larger input shaft!!!!! Dammit!! I hope O'Reilly will take this clutch back after I got it all dirty and scratched.

Just got back from the parts store with the 3rd clutch. TO bearing and disk are right but now I have the wrong pressure plate. :banghead:

Okay then! Fourth time was a charm with the clutch. The EJ22 slid right in there with the right parts, took less than 10 minutes.

Nice work Trev. So school me on why you swapped an EJ22 in there? More displacement?

1.8l SPFI 90HP/101 lb·ft
VS
2.2L MPFI 133HP/137 lb·ft

Once the 2.2L was introduced, there was no-longer a low range trans offered. And I just like to swap engines :)

Made some great progress the last few days. Cooling system is done, fuel is connected, power steering is good to go, clutch and throttle work, and I rigged an intake for it. All thats left are the electronics and exhaust (the hard parts).

Now there's an understatement if I've ever heard of one! ;)

I bet if I would have employed Trevor for swapping my 5.0L in my bronco, I'd be driving it right now! Instead, I took long enough to think "well, since I'm at this point I might as well...."

Looks good Trev!

Thanks Josh :)

Picked up a couple of odds n ends from Sparse at SunRunner today and if all goes well I should be able to fire this thing up by Sunday. Tomorrow is wiring day.
