Or what Mike said. I've just never liked how far they stick out. Tuck it or go without.

Totally agree, but I 'm afraid someone will take out a fender and/or that almost-brand-new core support. Bumpers are a little bit of insurance.StaggeredMK4 wrote:I've always loved my MKI Rabbits withOUT the bumpers!

Re: 81 Rabbit S
The bumper shocks are super easy to compress, and then you just squeeze them in a vise, and tack weld them in. I did it on mine, and pulled off the vertical baby bumpers. I like the way it turned out.

Also, I have seen what happens first hand when a rabbit sans bumpers is in an accident. Write it off. I tried to find the pics I have of just such an accident, but I can't. Take it from me, put bumpers on it.

I've always thought there should be driving lights in the bumper holes. Never seen it done, but it looks good in my head.

That was what I thinking. Lights would be pretty sweet.

Here is a link to one of my old threads and there is one picture of mine with the driving lights in the bumper holes.

One step ahead my friend.
I already compressed the pistons on the front and back. Still in the air about the front bumper. But the back looks a ton better after compressing it.
