I've grown tired of FM modulators and cords everywhere so I ordered an Audiovox DUO Dice connector.
Image

Here's what you get it has connections for your iPod/iPhone and and auxillary input that can be connected via head phone or RCA's.
Image

I also ordered a hardwire power source for my XM radio reciever.
Image

Hardwired the power cable to the fuse panel and installed the reciever with a new suction cup mount.
Image

After pulling the stereo, I wired plugged the DUO inline with the head unit and grounded the new harness using the built in ground connection to the back of the head unit case. On top you can see the iPhone connection and the auxillary input that I'll use for my Zune. The RCA's were plugged into an RCA to head phone adapter cable and that was connected to the back of the XM reciever. I wrapped the unit in a padded envelope I had handy to prevent any rattling. Tested it all before finishing the install and it worked great.
Image

Tucked the unit up next to the stearing wheel in an empty space in the dash.
Image

The unit runs on the CD Changer button, and cylces between iPhone and Auxillary by selcting track 1 or 2. The auxillary input can run either the head phone or RCA connection. Just power up either device and hit the CDC button, it will detect which one is suppling a signal. I didn't know if it was going to be able to do this when I bought it, but it worked out great. You can skip songs, etc. on you iPhone with the head unit. It was beer thirty at this point.
Image

I ran the head phone and iPhone cables through the console and up through an existing hole in the storage compartment, but as you can see I had an issue with the felted compartment liner.
Image

Not wanting to goober up my OEM liner, I got creative with old mouse pad I had laying around.

Image

Now a new rubberized liner that flexes around the cables. Problem solved.

Very nice job. I wants one. The cassette adaptor aux is getting old. There's some kind of outlet in the center console cubby of my A6 but I don't know what it is.

If it's stock, it's for a car phone.

New spark plug wires and coils. Was getting a misfire on cylinder #5 and rough idle. Runs good now.
