Beetle was moved to a storage unit/shop yesterday. Pulled the engine lid and trunk also. Forgot my jacks and jack stands so it'll sit a day. I have all the brake parts I need to redo the rears this week.
To do list:
Rear brakes and bleed system.
Buy clutch kit after determining which one I need. Change tranny oil.
Por 15 passenger side for sure.
Put carpet seats dash and door panels in, possibly recover seats if time allows.
Change tie rods (chrome ones are junk) and install fuel tank.
Put motor in get running.
Put fenders engine lid and trunk on.

Wade is there a way to determine the year of my trans as it probably isn't original? I think the throw out is different after 70 but I'm unsure.

I'm sure I have one that will work. You can check it out whenever you get a chance.

There's only two styles of throw out bearings. I can take a look at your transmission and let you know which style it is.

Buttoned up the rear brakes today new hoses, hard lines, shoes, springs, wheel cylinders, and wheel seals. Forgot my torque wrench from work to torque the axle nuts.
