Should be the usual Motorola two-ways or equivalent. I've done many, many drives and never needed anything but.

Alright, just talked to my coworkers and boss and I will more than likely be able to get 5 or so handheld radios that will do long range. These can be used for the lead and rear and a few middle groups. Freq's to be determined by what they are renting out that week. If no one is renting....we may be able to key up the Repeater in Logan and have coverage basically everywhere down there no matter how far you are from the other cars. I may see if I can borrow a indash radio and get it programmed to the highpo's and park authorities to monitor our "aggro" on authority figures. :ninja:

I am going to need to find a Radio man/navigator for my car with all this stuff going in haha. 2 portables, 1 indash, 1 radar, cell phones haha.

Any 12+ channel handheld radio should be fine considering we should all be fairly close together at all times. The front and rear do need to be long range though.

Wade, is there a repeater in the park somewhere as well? Or can that repeater skip over the mountains easily?

Mk4GTI, tell them they're a bunch of pussies.

Wade, give me a ring sometime this week around 2pm when you'll be around the shop. I'll swing by and get a lot of my questions out of the way haha. 406.491.7308

Brandon, that's a great point!

From what I understand, that repeater will be able to contact anyone with a radio on that Freq. in YNP, Paradise, West Yell, Bigsky. So we will be able in contact with everyone at all times..IF we are able to use that Repeater. I talked to the boss over dinner tonight and he sounded alright with it. As long as we don't have any conflicts we will be able to use the Repeater as well as a few radios. If we don't get the repeater we will have a radios capable of 5+ miles anyways and that should suit us fine.

Mine is lowered but not a lot, and I have a stock spare, am I going to be OK, I have not driven it through the park before. I forget how bad those roads can be.
I have 17s on it in the summer, and a 15" for a spare. Shoud I go with my 17s or bring my 15s that way I'd have a 15" spare. What do you guys think. Or would just a normal 17" steelie VW wheel work like from a newer VW? What do you guys think.
