It's getting nice out. So time to run it to Park City and back to test it out.

Took the Caddy out for a drive today and when I got back to the house, the oil pressure light was lighting up on and off, on and off and it wanted to stall. So I pulled into the garage and checked out the oil, and it was really thinned out...like I almost didn't see oil on the dipstick. It's up to the full mark, but it smelled like fuel, so I'm assuming it's running really rich and washing down the cylinder walls.
I guess I'm not sure what to do here, but I know the fuel dizzy/ air housing has some sort of enrichment/lean screw, but I'm not sure how to adjust it, but I need to lean it out a bit.
Anyone know what the initial setting should be, and how to adjust? Do I need a special CIS fuel adjustment tool?
Edit: seems to be something with my WUR and control pressure causing the system to run rich. Guess I'll start looking in that.

Ever thought about just swapping out the engine to something more modern and efi? I know that era of cis is pretty easy to figure out, but its still cis...

There is a special tool for it. I know Snap-on makes one, cause I have one. Does it smell like gas at the exhaust pipe or does the oil on the dipstick smell like gas? If you think you need the lmk, I can send it over to you.

Definitely gas in the oil. I have a hard time believing it's bad rings/low compression, and I think it's simply CIS running really rich. Is that a tailpipe CO sniffer you have? That would be handy.
Yeah, I've thought about it, but I'm not ready to do a motor swap. I still think this little 1.8 has plenty of life, it just needs attention. Remember it sat for 10 years, so CIS is getting it's revenge. I brought it back to life and so far it's been good, now just a little tweak and it'll be good to go.
Who knows, maybe I need to do a leak down test.
OOooo I did have a thought here, I swapped air box and CIS fuel dizzy with a different one from Randy. I wonder if I swap it back out, it it will lean out?

I have a compression tester if you would like to use it.

Does yours have an oxygen sensor? I have everything needed to tune it. We might have to meet up this weekend if you are still having problems.
