Hopefully that motor works out for ya. If its gots exhaust and shit you'll be in good shape.
I recommend taking that fuel tank out and replacing the filler hose and all other lines. before you put engine in. I wish i would have done it. my bus smell like gas, it sucks.
Good luck and great progress so far! Pics!

Good advice for sure it will be done! Pics will be up when Matt gets them. I'll have more this weekend hopefully - looks like a killer weekend for weather.

Picked up a T4 motor this Saturday. Also stopped at MIG to visit with Brandon, then took a drive out to the Dub Ranch and hung out with Trevor, Kevin and one of Trev's buddies who has a sweet BMW bike. then went and picked up the motor from a fellow VW Bus owner who was also a very cool guy. It was a great day

Overall the motor is in good visible shape - I'll do a compression test after I get it assembled again, because it was a running motor before the PO did a motor swap in his bus. The only part I can see that is missing is an intake runner with the injectors  Not sure why only one set is missing, but it should be easy to find a replacement. That's it for now.

Thanks guys, I think the thermo is there under cyl 1&2 but the cable is broken and twisted around, I'll have to double check it. Yep, no mustache bar  but I think I can score one at the junkyard. One of the yards here has a couple of bay windows that I am going to scavenge parts from, but I want to take a 1/2 day off from work and make it a one trip deal.

The goal here is to swap this 2.0L FI into my '72 Deluxe and use the entire FI system. I know it's been done, but if anyone has any advice I am listening.

A couple of updates:

I picked up another set of intake runners/injectors and a passengers side mirror from fellow Samba members.

Also, a VW/Porsche 3 arm yoke adapter from VintageWorldTools and an engine stand from Harbor Freight and I will be ready to get this motor up in the stand, clean it up, get the tins back on and get it ready to swap in.

I need a 210mm flywheel and clutch kit (from a 1700) so if anyone has anything please let me know.

You should PC all the tins whilst they are off!
