here s a question for you folks out there too... I know for engine blocks i can have them acid bathed to be cleaned. for tranny s and the head can I haz them sandblasted to give them that fresh look again???

Look up a product called 'Sharks Skin'. After you bead blast and clean aluminum such as the outside of the trans and head they will cover in corrosion if not sealed. The sharks skin will keep it fresh looking.

I would use a self etching primer on the metal if planning to paint the aluminum. If you wanted just raw aluminum look then the sharkhide would be all you need. I wouldn't apply paint over the sharkhide.
