I'm on a roll tonight! Just got done drilling out the gas/ oil bumper shocks and pushing the front bumper flush. If anyone does this make sure you wear eye protection!

Tools needed:
13mm
15mm
18mm
Drill with small bit
BFH Big "something" Hammer
Patience
Eye protection
Punch

First: remove the bumper (4 18mm bolts on the front frame horns)
Second: Pull bumper from car
Third: Punch a drill bit guide on the big part of the shock (oil side)
Fourth: Punch a drill bit guide on the small part of the shock (gas side)
Fifth: Drill where you punched
Repeat on other shock
Sixth: Hammer down both sides to where you want the bumper to sit
Seventh: Put bumper back on.

Pretty easy, here are some pics.

Sorry, not much for pictures tonight. I just wanted to get it done.
Looks sort of uneven for some reason.. must of been camera angle. Both sides measured out identical.

Nice! The ye olde US DOT bumper lipo trick. I just got done doing this on my e28 BMW. Makes you wish you could find cheaper euro parts, doesn't it? ;)

Haha ya.. The lipo trick works out pretty well. I left the bumpers on cause if someone hits me it won't crush like a tin can. And i seen your BMW, that thing is lookin' good! love the old E28's

Anyhow!... I made a trip over to divide MT today and picked up a head for the rabbit. Just got done cleaning it and the gasket surfaces. I was going to put it on tonight but who i was hoping to show up didn't... Cough Spencer. Guess i didn't hint enough? So maybe tomorrow or this weekend... who knows. Anyone know a good way to adjust shift linkage? I swapped the 4 speed for a close ratio 5 speed, and the 5 speed linkage of course.... but i can't find fifth? it's like hitting a wall going for 5th gear. I've tried adjusting but no luck..

Buy a 5 speed shifter box.
