I have a set from Samco, I did them a few years ago when I blew a line that was like $160 my cost for one hose, so I bucked up and got the whole kit. I like them, they are red. I have noticed, however that there is always a coolant smell since. I have no leaks, and already done coolant flange 2x, and I don't lose fluid that I can tell. I think they are good insurance, especially since most of your hoses are like 15ish years old....

On eBay there's some company making silicone boost hoses that are 5 ply, and supposed to be good. Maybe they make cooling hoses too?

I ordered the forge silicone hose kit, coolant expansion tank and water pump. Any tips on a good way to flush the system? My coolant is mud brown ever since I put this engine in it. I bet I have flushed it really well with water five times.

Side note. With the blown coolant hose on my vr I have been driving my mk2. The thing has all ways been hard starting and I finally looked into it. I found that my fuel pressure regulator diagram is bleeding fuel through the intake. I plugged the vacuum line for now witch has helped a ton with the starting issue but I'm running full pump pressure all the time and need a new one. Does anyone have a good used one I could buy off them? Having just dropped most of my monthly car budget on my vr I don't really want to pay for a new one

What's the MK2 Running?
It's not how fast you go. It's how well you go fast.

I have a small update here. Awhile ago I replaced my clutch master and slave cylinders twice trying to resolve a problem in my clutch engagement. About half way up my clutch pedal would catch and not fully engage my clutch causing it to slip. It ended up being the rubber clutch line deteriorating so I ordered a stainless breaded line from usp motor sports. The instal was super easy and it was a really nice product. It seems to have fixed my problem.
On another note when I installed my new coolant lines I added a fuel filter on one of the line to try and clean my coolant up. I have flushed the system with water like five or six times with out any good results. So this is the last thing I could think of to try and have pink coolant again.

That's where I hooked it up

And this is how much it's collected after about a thousand miles. I have cleaned it out three times. And it keeps collecting this junk. My coolant is way less mud colored and slowly turning more pink!! I'm pretty excited this is working.

Genius Wes! Is all that just crud from the rubber coolant lines? Debris in the cooling system/rad?
