New and old could see light through the old one in some spots on the belt, glad I changed it. Set up all the timing marks and put the new belt and tensioner on have proper deflection. Double and triple checked timing cause this is far too much of a hassle to pull apart again. Also realized I have to pull the power steering pulley again to put the ac, water pump, crank belt on then should be golden.

Got it all together after work learned how to adjust v belts. And wouldn't you know it messed up the timing so I pulled the dizzy cap I was off by one cylinder reset to tdc try again. No dice pull timing belt off cam reset to tdc hash mark to valve cover this time, instead of dot to 12 o'clock like the Bentley says. Boom starts, pull out into the alley steering hard. Duh you drained the power steering reservoir to access the ac the adjuster fill the reservoir up with some ATF and do a hot lap around town. Runs like a top now and I never want to pull this apart ever again.

Did the fuel pump tonight was easier than I thought took maybe an hour start to finish. Took me longer to find the Vaseline to hold the new tank oring found it next to my brothers bed [WHITE SMILING FACE] just kidding. The strainer is the picture above old and new. The plastic or rubber piece that connects the pump to the sending unit had disintegrated over 23 years and was not connecting the two, that's what all the black on the strainer. Hopefully I saved the external pump from frying.
