Re: 2001 Allroad Rehab
I hated doing the hardline from master to slave, that looks like it will make it nice! I had to loosen the brake booster to snake it underneath.

Re: 2001 Allroad Rehab
It does for sure make it easier. Sounds like the clutch feel is 100% improved too.
Over the last couple of evenings the axles have been installed and I've gotten the trans back in the car, all bolts torqued. Then was able to get the shift linkage and all other bits attached.
I ran into the starter bolts, which do need to be longer. Also the left axle bolts are too long for the flange and hit the trans. So tonight I'll need to go pick up some bolts to get those parts bolted in.
Once the downpipes go in I should be able to get the trans mounts in, motor mounts back on the mounts and begin to put the front end together.
I never did get the mini harness for the reverse lights, but I emailed Scott @ AA. I'll probably end up just making my own. And I have to wire in the clutch switch as well.

Re: 2001 Allroad Rehab
Well as of last night it's officially a 6 speed Allroad Quattro!
I have a few things to tackle still like filling the drivetrain with fluids, and I have to track down why I have a no crank no start right now. I quickly busted some work on getting it back together, and maybe missed something.
Clutch switch is wired on the ECU side, but needs to be connected and terminated on the cabin side, so I think that's my culprit.
It was about midnight when I finished up so I may have been a little tired and wanted to be done.

Last night I got the no start problem squared away. There's a rely under the dash that controls the neutral start, and I had to remove and jump the relay. Took me a while to find some documentation, so I'll add here that it's relay #53, which is a 4 pin type, and pins 87 -> 30 need to be connected.
It's good to see this in the DIS:

I bled the clutch and brakes with some new Pentosin Dot4 fluid the evening before last:

Rerouted the power wire for the amp through a different spot in the firewall, Alpine V12:

Also filled the diff/trans with 2.5 quarts of Redline MT-90 fluid, and filled up the coolant with some G12. Still need to fill the rear diff, put the wheels on and drop it off the stands and take it for a spin.
Just for reference I had to get longer started bolts, and this came in handy to reference the needed length:

Re: 2001 Allroad Rehab
Swap mostly complete. Filled up the rear diff with some LiquiMoly and bolted up the front wheels. Then took it for a quick spin around the block. I need the knob, boot, center console trim and the shift assembly plate to complete the interior...but haven't found anyone willing to part out. Shokan came back with a quote for $165
Might end up having to pay up for those

I've got a Crown Royal bag you can have and use as a shift boot. You know, if you're a ricer.
