Pulled the exhaust manifold and turbo also the oil lines. Tomorrow I will be getting the new gaskets from 034 and reassembly will begin.

Nice, you should grab those parts from me and you can start customizing the bumper rebarYASHA7FOLD wrote:Pulled the exhaust manifold and turbo also the oil lines. Tomorrow I will be getting the new gaskets from 034 and reassembly will begin.

There was one manifold nut that was rounded off so I am still working on that, one of the turbo inlet bolts broke off inside the housing( I hope I can get it with an easy out ), and the manifold is cracked. What a day.

Managed to replace the sway bar bushings.. And strip the last "&"&$@"@@@ bolt of the project.. But so far the lock tight is holding.. Now for the120k maintence. Anyone have suggestions as what to check along with replacing plugs and wires?

Hammered away with the rewiring of the bug(not done). If you cant drag the dome light off the original wiring, you end up cursing a lot, throwing stuff, and spending too much time doing something that should take a minute. I got that wiring drug, I'm not sure where it came out of because I cant see it, but i got it done. I know for sure it is a tiny hole somewhere behind the hood hinge, hood spring, and defroster ducting.

Attempted to pull the upper intake manifold. How in the #$%$#% do you get to the x4 6mm hex bolts with 1" of room between the runners and the radiator??? I started making custom tools, and even those wouldn't fit.
