Thanks Forest. And as for the miles on the engine......I have not a clue. I picked up from the Russions in missoula and they had it in one of thier sheds. The engine had been sitting for a while. But still when I first started it there wasn't any snoke and the small lifter tick that it had is gone after the oil change. I didnt go through it because I just wanted to drive the Rabbit this year. Next may be a 16v for it.

new fuel pump got a working fuel guage got a correct ignition switch, and got a high low beam relay that acyually works. the 71 is getting less ghetto day by day.
