It is mostly still complete, except for somebody stole the exhaust manifold and downpipe. I guess that means my Scirocco will keep a header.

Our Drag strip is supposed to be open Labor Day weekend so I got some motivation back for working on the S10. Hopefully I will be able to take in one drag race this year.

It's nothing too exciting. I put it together about 8 years ago with a 350 bored .060, balanced, windage tray, 224 duration 465 lift, and hypereutectics. I am now adding vortecs and a performer RPM. This should put the compression at 9.5:1, so I am hoping for a pretty decent power increase over the old mid 70s heads. It has a Holley 700 double pumper which is too big, but will have to work til I get something else. It also has a full manual valvebody TH350 and a mini spool. If the strip opens I have a set of 4.10s to throw in it. I will probably break down and buy a higher stall converter since right now its just the factory GM vette high stall which is only 2200. I built a custom 2 1/2 inch exhaust with caps I can pull off 18 inches behind the collectors for the strip. It hooks pretty good with slicks, but I really should revamp the rear suspension. The lowering blocks give the axle too much leverage on the springs and it wheel hops pretty bad on the street. It's fun even though its not that fast on the strip.

I have been hauling them in again. I may have to put some stuff up for sale again since I am going to run out of room one of theses days. I just ended up with a 80 Caddy diesel for a shop truck and a 80 4 door rabbit. I will post pics later.

Since I have to kill time sitting on the couch I thought I would do a quick run down on this summers project list. I am looking forward to having a summer off for the first time ever.

92 GTI 16V
I have the dash out of it at the moment. It is getting a new heater core, and some wiring work behind the dash. I have stepped it up to a Jetta 19mm sway bar and still need to find some better springs. I hope to eventually swap a VR6 in. I hope to use this as my daily driver once my newest son is out of the backwards facing car seat.

86 GLI 8V
I have picked this up to use as a daily while having to use a backward facing baby seat. It is not my favorite, but it will be much more baby friendly than my S10, Scirocco, or CRX. I pickued up a 3/4T Suburban for the highway, but this should work nicely around town. I plan to make it reliable. If it has any major engine problems it will get a low miles 1.8 longblock I have in the shop. It seems to have a fully functionable wide ratio 5 speed so it should be economical. I plan on installing new shocks and struts along with any wear items it needs. If I like it by mid summer i think I will do a single round headlight conversion. It will also get an old set of BBS one piece rims I have laying around

1980 Caddy Diesel
I picked up a 1.6 longblock a while ago from Trevor and am planning on swapping it to a carb and dropping it into this thing for the summer. It will also get the single round setup from my race cabby. I hope to eventually swap in the 2.0 16 valve from my GTI to make it a fairly fun parts hauler.

1987 Cabby
I finally straightened out the title on my Cabby. So it will get slowly returned to good mechanical condition. I don't have any major plans for it, just gonna let my wife cruise it for the summer

I also have a few more rigs with undecided futures.

Scirocco with 16V swap.
Unknown condition of drivetrain and no title make this one a parts donor. I am on the lookout for another scirocco or rabbit to build a turbo 16V out of. It is probably a couple years off, but I am always on the lookout for rigs with titles.

80 4 door rabbit
I haven't heard it run, no title, and a couple missing windows probably means parts car also.

86 Golf GT
Running Driving car with a title. I have trouble letting VWs get crushed so I brought this home to save it. It has non powersteering and no sunroof so it might make a good lightweight builder in the future.

GTI 16 Valve
Shell with most of the parts to put back together. It has a valver which has lost a belt and needs some work. I need to take it apart and see what all it needs.

Hay Randy bI am still looking for a shifter mount plate for my MK1. Let me know if you have one you would want to let go. I also need all mounting bolts for the suspension if you have some lying around. Let me know. Talk to you later and thanks.

I think I saved all the bolts for the suspension from the last cabby I parted. I don't have a shifter mount plate on the shelf, but as soon as I am back at work I should be able to strip one off something for you.
