The fenders are different for the jetta to gti/golf. Easy way to tell is the headlights. Golf/gti's have round tear drop head lights whereas the jettas have a more square headlight. That is why when people do front end swaps on mk4's you need fenders, hood, headlights, and front bumper.
So to answer your question, you will need jetta specific fenders

Sorry I joined this discussion late.....I hope everything worked out ok!!!!
EPC is Electronic Power Control. Your car has a "drive by wire" throttle system (there is no throttle cable). When the computer cannot figure out how far you are pushing the gas pedal, it goes into safety mode and turns off traction control, reduces power, turns on the EPC light, and turns on the MIL light (CEL). This malfunction can be caused by the gas pedal module, the TPS, the computer, the wiring, or any of the other sensors the car uses to figure out how much power is bieng applied. I mention the wiring, cause one GTI that I was working on showed a code for the accelerator pedal, so we replaced it. Then the code came back!!!!!! It turns out that a wire under the battery tray was shorting out!!!!!!

I think Chris hasn't had the problem return?
These codes:
17579 - Angle Sensor 2 for Throttle Actuator (G188) Implausible Signal
P1171 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17950 - Angle Sensor 1 for Throttle Actuator (G187): Implausible Signal
P1542 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17953 - Throttle Valve Controller: Malfunction
P1545 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17976 - Throttle Actuator (J338): Mechanical Failure
P1568 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Indicated bad TB, and Dana Saab (yes, Saab not VW anymore) had already replaced his pedal cluster, which was not the problem. After this scan, we double checked wiring and I used my digi MM to test all the specs and everything tested to spec with voltage and ohms and Vag tests according to the repair manual. So, he went head with the new TB, and I *think it's been fine so far. If there is still an issue we will check for any shorts or exposed wiring under the tray Good tip!
