VRT has come into question a time or two. Brian Kirchbergers Jetta makes me horny. YouYube that shizz

And Mike, a 1.9 or 2.0 TDI has always been a major option for me.
Additionally I'd love to run a supercharger and turbo in series as this car has been an inspiration. http://www.auto-power-girl.com/cars-200 ... rsion-2363

I think the intended end use of the vehicle should dictate engine combo choice... this VR6 Caddy project is just getting off the ground for me and I am glad I picked such a complicated mk1 swap. Downside is extended completion date and an almost too unique set-up. Also, if you want to race it, what class does it put you in. I wanted a Caddy daily driver with snappy torque and enough extra to shake a few heads including my own.
Think about what you want to be able to do with this project when finished and make sure this choice gets you there.

The VR is simply too heavy of an engine for me.

8vT still sounds good to me but I've found a different fuel management system I may run now. We'll see.
I'm also thinking DigiFiz as well as I just love the look.
I've just got to see if I can somehow find a brand new JH short block.
That and a gutless new 2.0 ABA head.
I've almost got enough money saved to start doing things again. Until then I gotta clean the damn shed out and get rid of all the OEM GTI parts to just make some room. I also need to get rid of some more shit. Namely G-Wheels needs to go to the little bro and I hope this girl I grew up with buys the Golf ASAP. That would give me a great start.

Since I'm an OEM kind of guy I intend to stick to 8v with a technologically advanced but yet Callaway-like setup.

When it's done I will have a semi shaved engine bay, a one plug disconnect engine, and almost all VW based upgrades.

Projected finish date YNP '10

Hit my savings goal people!
Any help sourcing out a 2.0 ABA gutless head would be greatly appreciated as well as a possible brand new JH bottom end somehow. Not rebuilt, brand new.
I should be able to start dumping money into it more now.
Especially when the Golf and Jetta are sold.

you already have a good jh block have it decked honed and balenced and spend some real money on polishing the crank rods and low comp turbo pistons. with the money you would spend on a new bottom end, you can build a bulletproof one outta what you have for probably less....

Project sounds really cool. Can't wait to see pics, any MKIIs for sale? I want either a donor for the wolfsburg or non runner to put the wolfsburg guts in.
