Thanks! I've got practice now, but the hard part was already done. If I had an un-crashed MK3 donor I'm sure it could be easily done in a weekend. So if anyone is fixin' to do one of these swaps gimme a holla

Cruised around a little last night, maybe like twenty miles and kept below fourty-five hundred RPM. No leaks, great idle and kept a nice temp. Hopefully the VW spirits will smile upon this setup, because I'm going to be nice to it.

Glad you had the opportunity to do this again with the rolled GLX and it drives!
Hopefully, this one makes it through a summer of flogging cause I wouldn't be able to keep it under 4500 for long.
When you get a chance, let us know how much this thing weighs???
Nice work and better luck this time around.

I kinda wonder what it weighs too...

Seems to be running well, got about 200 miles on it now. Today I pulled this gem out of the GLX. The donor car had two plugs going to it and I only have one, but it seems to be working fine with my one plug :) MFA is even working.

Interior and exterior are all buttoned up now with the MK3 cluster wedged in the dash :) Everything is working except the coolant level sensor and blinker indicator. I am going to try to fix these and get cruise control in stalled in the next couple days, because 90 now feels like 70 and I cannot afford any more speeding tickets. Gotta say I love driving this thing more than any car I've ever had, it takes way less effort to drive than a 16v and I'm getting about the same MPGs. Anyone thinking about building one should DO IT!

Again I my thanks goes out to everyone that helped with this project! If I can help anyone with a MK2VR or an ABA Rabbit conversion let me know.

Just got back from the landfill :) Rolled up to the weigh station and asked the lady, "how much do you think I weigh." She tilts her head and pauses for a sec and says, "about 180?" With me and a full tank of gas the car weighs 2880. Thats about 2650 empty.

Switched to gray wires. They help my feng shui
