UPDATE
Interior is clean, I'm just removing glue and goop now. Should be able to pull it outside and pressure wash the entire thing this Saturday night.

What is the advantage of removing the rain tray? Doesn't it serve a purpose?
I see alot of you have removed them from your MK1's and would like to understand why... Jim

FWIU, It removes that body 'line' so you have a smooth surface instead of a nasty welded lip. Along the same lines of de-badging and rubstrip removal, it's something different from the others. Rain tray is kinda old school too, and not really necessary and if you go custom, it's that extra little easy thing to do.

Raintrayectomy is also a sign of someone who is adept in MKI. :beer:

Personally I am removing it for ease of access to the back of the engine and for extra turbo clearance.
