Unless you are serious about track racing, just upgrade the pads. Going bigger won't really help for the streat.

And yeah, I'll be heading over to missoula here soon for revo :unibrow:

- Shameless plug -

I am the only authorised Revo dealer in MT, and as far as I know, there is no GIAC dealer near here. What engine does your car have? Give me a call at 406-829-3830 if you want to talk about your options. Oh, and I also offer a 10% discount on tunes to BSVW members!

The engine is a 1.8t
the reason I was looking at getting bigger brakes was because the other day I was on the highway got cut off, and the pads/brakes faded out and scared the crap out of me.
What type of pads would be good to limit that? I need to change the pads soon anyways

About the chips - as far as I know, the REVO is way weaker than the GIAC X+ is it not? and more expensive.. =(
Does anyone have any idea, or maybe does anyone have a 1.8t i could ride in thats' been chipped so i can find out if this will even be worth it...

I rode (and got permission to drive) JR's A4 and if REVO is "weaker" than GIAC then I wouldn't know what to expect - I think JR's is Stage 1?? Chris has a Stage 2 flash - when he gets the tune correct maybe he would take you for a spin.

If you had brake fade I would take a harder look at the condition of your existing rotors and pads before upgrading to a BBK (big brake kit) because it's easy to drop a G on just the basic parts for a BBK - not a good cost/value ratio to me.

I don't know about the Revo being weaker, but I know the gains are +27 whp and +59 wtq. I am not versed on the GIACs gains. I also have a free 5 hour trial available for your car, so you can try it before you make a decision if you want. And like I said before, I offer a 10% discount to BSVW members!

You will also be able to get upgraded brake rotors, pads, and ss lines for much less than the BBK, and with less unsprug weight also. You would be able to to that yourself in an afternoon.

Thanks for all the replies guys =)
SS lines im assuming your talking stainless steel lines which would improve .... the pressure that was able to be built in the system??
I dont think i need to go with a big brake kit as i doubt this car will see more than.. 300 whp so i would agree that just better of what i have is what im looking at doing ..
what would that kind of set up cost me Aeron - concerning the brakes..

Dealing with the chips -
what are the costs of the stage 1 and 2 and realistically what's the difference between the two?

I am looking to buy the chip with the return we get in may - Also my sister lives in Missoula so there is a great "reason" to come visit her...
;p

Also - I would love to go for a ride if I could in anyones cars that would take me =)

I think Aeron, I will call you tommorow, when i get a chance, my car is messing up again, i think yet another coilpack blew..
