What kind of boost gauge would you guys recommend and where would you get it? id like it to match the color of my dash, i dont want to throw a whole bunch of other colors into it as well.
Also - has anyone run into some really good floor mats for the GTI? mine dont really impress me much =)

I have Monster mats in mine and love them. They are awesome in winter as well! Keep you floors protected great! Best floor mats I have ever had by a long shot...
Here is a link to some on Ebay. I think when I bought mine I got them for around $70 shipped for just the front 2. They are worth it though. I spilled a 48oz fountain drink on the passenger floor and none of it ever hit the carpet, these mats are that deep!

if you want it to match your interior i'm guessing your wanting an electronic boost controller. when dealing with that kind of stuff i would go with a reputable brand. like apex'i or something along those lines...

I really don't know, but, if you increase the boost on a modern VW by some external means won't the ECU dial the boost back? Or do you remove the OEM boost control when installing a new one?
For the money I have always kind of like the totally manual type "controllers" like the turbo XS one.
x2 on Monster mats, had 'em in the R and LOVED 'em.

well yes if you dial the boost up without a diode mod or something like that to make it so the ecu doesn't put see how much boost you are making it will put you in limp mode.
that's why staying with your chips set boost levels isn't bad. there are other ways to increase the hp without having to dial up the boost. when you start pushing the boost up higher you start having to deal with other factors like engine knock and premature detonation. the chip upgraders have a large amount of time in R&D to make sure their settings are safe for the engine and the octane level of gas you are putting into it.
this being said i'm not trying to discourage you from going out and getting yourself a new setup, just giving you the reasoning why your boost levels are set to a certain point.
and i don't think i have ever seen the turbo xs boost controllers. i know forge motorsports makes a nice one and they deal exclusively with our cars.

Grant, the Revo controlls your boost for you. An external boost controller won't do you any good. That being said, what are you trying to accomplish with a EBC? If you are looking for more boost, then you are a bit nuts, you have plenty of it on that car. If you are looking to even out the boost, you are going to need a lot more than just a boost controller, you will need a lot of dyno time, as well as a few other external controller for boost, a/f and the like. I am not sure if any of those will work with the Revo tuning, either. What is the ultimate goal here? Are you thinking that since you have the new FMIC that you need more boost?
JR, how does the MBC work with Revo tune? don't you essentially have two boost producing devics working against each other?

Lol, thats awesome - so i posted this before i was even chipped somebody brought it up to active status, so, no i am not currently looking for a boost controller =)
also what i had meant to say with the topic post and the question was a boost gauge, not a controller.
=)
sorry to cause any problems, im getting more than enough boost out of the little k03

LOL. I'm not actually using it. I just said I have one. However, you would use an MBC with your tune to keep boost from spiking or going over a limit you set with the MBC if you so desired. That line of thinking is pretty much renig'd any more due to consumer adjustable boost levels
For instance, if I was capable of boosting 30psi but only wanted to boost 23...I'd use my MBC to limit the "overboosting."
